My mother and I met artist Martha Murphy in New York City. We came upon her display of oil on canvas artwork while walking around Manhattan near the Museum
of Modern Art.

Ms. Murphy is a self-trained painter. Her work is inspired by the urban environment and based on a section of a building, rather than as a whole, to bring out its hidden beauty.

Recently, her work was featured in an article entitled “Organic Elements” from the May–June 2007 issue of “New York Home,” an interior design magazine. The article features the renovation of designer Martin Raffone’s Chelsea-Manhattan loft.
Fifteen of her oil on canvas paintings are hanging on his living room wall.

The creativity of Martha Murphy’s art matches the creativity The Big Fun Box helps children discover in themselves.

Ms. Murphy is donating $25 of the $35 selling price for every “Skyscraper” work sold.
It’s approximately 6"x10" and comes matted on an 11"x14" matte board.
