What
we do…
We raise money to purchase the components in The Big Fun Box, that’s
filled with
fun, creative activities. The Big Fun Boxes are then donated to children’s
hospitals around the country, each year, primarily through their Child Life Departments.
Naturally, the more money we raise, the more Big Fun Boxes we can create
by purchasing components in the largest quantities possible. This allows us to make
the best use possible
of our FunDonors’ donations.
…and how we do it
We assemble thousands of Big Fun Boxes that are then packed and
shipped
to the Child Life departments. The
Child Life professionals then deliver them to the children who are hospitalized frequently and
for extended periods. It’s intended to help families who are in the midst of stressful times and would benefit
most from knowing others have been in their situation and want to help them through it.
Along the line of “Teach a man to fish and he’ll have fish for
life,” these activities encourage children to use their imaginations to help take their minds off their
problems—whenever possible.
We constantly look for new activities to keep The Big Fun Box fresh, fun
and meaningful.
